Sleep: Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep. When a person is deprived of sleep, he cannot harness the complete power of the brain. In fact, most of the activities such as memory consolidation are carried out during the deepest levels of sleep. Hence, it is important for your child to have good night’s sleep so that the brain functions at its peak.
Fruits and vegetables: Make sure that he gets his share of vitamins, minerals and nutrients daily through rich fruits and vegetables. Most of the fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants which play an important role in protecting the brain cells from damage. Even if your child isn’t fond of green leafy vegetables, make sure that he eats sufficient amount everyday. Vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, etc. should be included in your kid’s diet chart along with fruits such as bananas, apricots, mangoes and watermelon.
Repetition: Make sure that your child revises and repeats whatever he learns. Even if your child is a slow learner, this technique will surely help if revision is done at regular intervals. Developing a habit of preparing notes in your child to revisit them later will not only help your child in the present but also in the longer run.
